PewTranslate Language Lookup is a free, no-account browser tool for churches and community teams exploring local language needs. Enter a US ZIP code or select a state and county to see American Community Survey estimates of languages spoken at home, including English proficiency and margins of error. The lookup uses 2020–2024 ACS five-year data for people aged five and older. ZIP searches use Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, which are statistical areas and do not exactly match postal delivery boundaries. Use the results to prepare questions for local conversations, compare possible language priorities, and plan a small translation trial. Area estimates cannot tell you who attends a particular church, which language someone prefers for worship, or whether an individual needs translation. The lookup and explanatory guides are available now; PewTranslate’s broader translation service remains prelaunch, with accounts closed. No AI translation is performed by this lookup.
